I slept well that night. Like a baby caressed by his mother’s bosoms while sucking on a Jack Daniels soaked pacifier. It was that kind of night after that kind of evening at Werkstatt. A gamble of sorts, bringing my entire family to a place I’ve never been before for a family celebration. A high percentage gamble considering the Austrian fare, though in reality all that was required was a Schnitzel, and a fan. Comfort food on Coney Island Ave is not so new to us (see Nargis Cafe), but comfort Austrian cuisine, boasting a former 4 NYT stars chef is like having a Michelin Star restaurant in the Staten Island mall.
